Pinax seems to be uber cool !!

So i'm trying to build this pinax app where the main deal is the bookmarks section. I wanted my bookmarks to have cool ajaxy comments, but it's really hard to paginate them. ie on the 2nd page of bookmarks, for each bookmark, i get the 2nd page of comments. That's why global variables suck. Anyways I might just have to completely javascript all my comment-design/template to fix this.

Does Pinax 0.51 work with Django 1.1? I'd like to try it for a new project. And here some more text test. I'd like to try it for a new project. And here some more text test. Pinax based on Django very young as compared to other python frameworks (TurboGears) successful in gathering attention of Python programmers.

Hi all, I hope this post generates some discussion. Regular guy here: I have web ideas that I want to execute. I've done a lot of research, checked out guru and other dev sites. I'm web savvy but not a developer, programmer, or designer. The costs, looks, and functions of dev: The spectrum for web dev is all over the place. From $50 static templates on TemplateMonster to thousand$ and tens-of-thousand$ for true dynamic dev. I often don't like the look of packages like phpIbizi, phpFox, vBulletin, Datemill sites and even Joomla, Drupal, and Django sites sometimes look funky. I am a bit more impressed by some sites and features using Handshakes, and Joomla's Community Builder. Customization is an issue with all. Languages and frameworks: Then we have the question of frameworks, languages, and scalability. PHP, Ruby, Django, Symfony, and now, Pinax. Customization; "I'm different": Everyone envisions their own website ...

My first post in Pinax

I am gearing up to deploy my first pinax site on webfaction. At first it will be private as my chief objective is to get the basics down so that I can deploy a pinax site for a client. But it won't be long before my own pinax sites are public. Also I will be incorporating my upgraded django-faq implementation as part of the mix.

testing this out & pinax looks pretty good.

So I am facing a development opportunity for which Pinax provides a lot of the features and functions I'll need. The question is whether it's ready for the "prime time".

I'm currently trying out cloud27. It's a very nice social network which was built by some nice people who thought it might be fun to create a collection of apps which when bundled together make up a social network (or other type of site). This collection of apps would then be available for any one to use and built their own site/network. Pretty cool. You can find out more at http://pinaxproject.com.

Hi, Is it possible to refactor code such that it can be made to run gae. Is this feasible with the existing code base or would it require a overhaul?

My team is transitioning a legacy social network into the modern age, and Pinax really feels like the right tool for the job. Right now, I'm exploring how things work and trying to answer two questions for myself: # Where does application code go? Haven't quite figured out the best way to customize what's here for my own purposes. # How to do version control? I want to put my own code under version control, yet I also want to preserve the ties to the pinax code base and to the svn externals that are set up.

I have been implementing Pinax into a legacy site that I already have up. I have been meaning to document how I went about this process versus the stock install and manipulating the templates. The real challenge has been keeping up w/ the moving codebase of Django and also Pinax.

Having an awesome time at Djangocon. Really interested in Pinax.
